The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a very famous book of C.E. Lewis. It is more than fifty years old and has been read by generation after generations. The book is the first in the The Chronicles of Narnia series.
In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobewer are introduced to the Pevensie children. They are four children: Edmund, Lucy, Peter and Susan, living in an English Countryside. As times are bad in London their parent sends them to live with Professor Digory Kirke. The Nazis are constantly bombing the city. So like hundreds of London children, they are sent to the safety of the country.
Pofessor Kirke is kind and friendly but likes to keep things to himself. The children, to amuse themselves, explore the rambling old house. The mansion is a big house with may large rooms. Some are furnished. Others are not. The Pevensie children love playing hide n seek all day long.
One day, while playing their game, Lucy, the youngest girl, hid in a very large wardrobe. She keeps moving further in side the wardrobe. It seems to have no end. Yes! The wardrobe has no end. But it was a time portal. Curious, she inches forward. Finally she found her standing beside a lamp post, on a snowy day.
Welcome to Narnia.
Narnia is under a spell and has been for years. The White Witch is the cruel ruler. The White Witch's spell has cast a permanent winter over the land. Everything is frozen. Snow is everywhere.
So is that it? No.
There is a prophesy in Narnia that Two Sons of Adam and Two Daughters of Eve shall come to free Narnia from the Evil White Witch with the help of Aslan, the great Lion.
The most important question is will her sister, Susan, and her brothers, Edmund and Peter, ever believe that Narnia exists? And will the prophesy come to pass?
Has anyone read this book? If u have than pls tell me what you think about it.
Haven't read it but I have watched the movie and must say I loved the fantasy element which in a quirky way was still believable..
This book came so much before the harry potter series or the lord of the rings series but didn't get made into a movie for a long time..
