I would like to share information regarding for the post of Assistant Town Planner in Punjab’s Department of Housing and Urban Development that is recently notified by Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) of Patiala. There will be initial screening after which candidates will be selected for the interview. Selection of the candidates for the post will entirely depend on the basis of their academic track record, work experience and personal interview’s performance. Desired candidates for the post must be Postgraduate or Diploma holder (City and Regional Planning) or its equivalent qualification from a reputed University or Institute. Else B.Tech (Planning) from a reputed University or Institute is also desired. Must have Punjabi language in Matriculation or its equivalent standard. The applicants must not be aged below 18 years and above 37 years. This age limitation is not similarly observed over SC, ST, OBC, PH, EXS & Govt. Employees provided as per to the government norms.


There will be imposition of Application form fee of Rs 25 (counter purchased forms) and Rs 75 (post purchased forms) through bank draft. Fee payment of Rs 200 General candidates is implemented whereas only Rs 50 is charged for SC, ST and BC candidates of Punjab. The Ex-Servicemen of Punjab candidates are excluded from such charge of imposition. Payment should be made in DD format that is drawn in favor of Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission, payable at Patiala. The name and address of the candidates should be mentioned in block letters on the reverse side of the DD.

In-person or by post with pay of Rs 25 or Rs 75 (Cash or DD) from 23rd August you can get your application form from the office of Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission, Baradari Gardens, Patiala -147001.


One must send on or before 20th September their attested (by Gazetted Officer) three passport size photos (of which one affixed on application form), 2 self-addressed envelopes (size 24 cm x 11 cm) with affixed stamps of Rs 30 on it, DD photocopy and attested (by Gazetted officer) copies of all certificates in an envelope with atop mention on Top Left Corner as “Name of the Post Applied for ___________” to the Office of the Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission, Baradari Garden, Patiala – 147001.
