There will be Written Examination that will followed by Interview Test and Verification process before making final selection of the candidate for the applied posts. The written examination is scheduled on 1st December at various centers of it like Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Cuttack, Hyderabad, Dispur, Jammu, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram and Shillong.
Desired candidates for the post of Geologist (Group A) / Assistant Geologist (Grade I & Group B) must be Masterís Degree (Geology, Applied Geology, Geological Science, Mineral Exploration, Geo-Exploration, Marine Geology, Engineering Geology, Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies, Earth Science and Resource Management, Geochemistry or Petroleum Geosciences) from a recognized University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956).
Regarding Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B) / Assistant Hydrogeologists (Group B) post one must be Masterís Degree (Applied Geology, Marine Geology or Geology) from a University incorporated by an Act of theCentral or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act,1956. Even a candidate having Masterís Degree in Hydrogeology from a reputed University is also desired.
The age limit of the applicants for Geologist / Assistant Geologist post must be 21 to 32 years, while for Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B) post one must within 21 to 35 years and for Assistant Hydrogeologists post one should be 21 to 30 years. This age limitation is not observed over SC, ST, PH, EXS and OBC candidates as per to the government norms.
There are two parts for online registration like Part I Registration & Part II Registration. On 15th September or before 15th October within the time frame of 11.59 pm one can make online registration for the desired post by downloading the application format from UPSC official link: http://www.upsconline.nic.in/
There will be imposition of Application fee of Rs 200 that is excluded from SC, ST PH and Female candidates. Payment could be made in mode of Visa, Master Credit and Debit Card apart from remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or through net banking facility of SBI / State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad / State Bank of Mysore / State Bank of Patiala / State Bank of Travancore. A print out copy the system generated complete application form with unique Registration No after successful online submission should be made to produce it for future purposes.
