Eat all kinds of vegetables and seasonal fruits, cerels, pulses, brown rice, dry fruits and nuts etc. Avoid taking junk foods like pastries, cool drinks, ice creams etc. Dry amla pieces in hot sun for one day, soak them in honey for 40 or 50 days, and consume 2 or 4 pieces per day. Drink 3 to 4 liters of water per day. Do some light exercises and pranayam in Yoga. Avoid tensions. Avoid watching suspense, horror, and violence movies. Listen to classical music.

    Hello Dear,

Your body can be sensitive to certain foods when you are pregnant, although these foods will not harm your baby.

A mother's nourishment during pregnancy is very important for the mother and for the baby at all stages of pregnancy for the development of the baby. All you have to do is to make sure that you eat a variety of different foods in order to get the right balance of nutrients that you and your baby require.

Starchy foods like bread, potatoes, rice, chapatis, pasta, oatmeal, and breakfast cereals are an important part of any diet and should, with vegetables, form the main part of your meal.

Dairy foods like milk, cheese, yoghurt are important as they contain calcium and other nutrients essential for your baby's development. Choose low-fat varieties whenever possible.

Meat, fish, eggs, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, pulses and other vegetarian products are all good source of nutrients. This protein rich food combined with protein from starchy foods and dairy products provide the building blocks for baby's growth and tissue repair.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables as these provide the vitamins and a mineral, as well as fibre which helps digestion and prevents constipation.Eat them lightly cooked in a little water or raw to get the most out of them.

Butter, clarified butter, milk, honey, fennel seeds, sweets made from jaggery rather than white sugar can be taken in small quantity.

Black grapes, banana, ripe mango, dates, cashewnuts, apricot are beneficial for you during pregnancy. Intake Cabbage, Cauli-flower & all long green vegetables such as Tondali, Turai, Louki, Parwal, Spinach, Govari.

Pregnant woman can consume tamarind or not?

Pooja has given a detailed description of indian food that has to take during pregnancy. Don’t eat food stuffs that will produce excess heat like Til-gul, Papaya, Ripen Mango, Pineapple, etc. Take green leafy vegetables, milk, curd, fruits, dry fruits, etc.
Friends! One of my friend is carrying and she neither has mother nor mother-in-law. She asked help from me to guide her during this period. She loves to eat ‘Vatha Kolambu’ – a south indian recipe. It is made up of tamarind extract. We can use many different vegetables in the dish such as ladys finger, brinjal, onion, tomato, etc. As it is completely made up of tamarind extract, she is scared to eat since tamarind increase the body heat. She want to have the sour taste of tamarind. Whenever she hears the name of Vatha Kolambu, she gets temptations to eat. Please guide me in this issue. I am waiting for your valuable replies.

    Hi Vishakha!!

AS you have mentioned here your friend is willing to eat "vattha kolambu" there is nothing harm in giving it. if she crossed more than 5 months she can have anything except that list. Indha madhiri time la pulippa sappida rombha asai varum avangalukku. She will not have whole vessal of kulambu ok. in one small cup of curry she will not get heat in her body so dont worry and help her to eat nicely, as you said she doesnt have her mom please take care, my blessings will be there for her. If any guidence you want feel free to ask me I wll surely help you...
