Ragi Health Drink Recipes for Children
While watching a show related to Child’s Health and Nutrition, I came to know that, Ragi plays a vital role in developing a strong immune system in them. As it is an excellent source of calcium, it aids in bone development, lowers cholesterol, treats and prevents anemia, reduces appetite and more. I thought of including this nutritious millet in the diet of all the little ones in my family.
Can anyone list few of the health drink recipes made from ragi??? Please share your valuable replies here…
Ragi is a rich source of amino acids, which helps in repairing tissues, metabolism, treating migraine headaches, and muscle coordination. It is considered as an excellent natural relaxant and it helps to fight anxiety, insomnia, and depression.
Some of the Ragi health drink recipes are:
1. Ragi Malt
• 1 cup Ragi powder
• ½ cup milk powder
• 10 almonds blanched and peeled
• 10 pistachios blanched
• 3 cardamoms powdered
• ¾ cup sugar powder
Roast almonds and pistachios and powder them
Roast the ragi powder on a low flame and allow it to cool for sometime
Mix ragi powder with milk powder, sugar, cardamom powder, almond-pistachios powder.
Store the mixture – Ragi Malt in a dry airtight container.
Then mix ragi malt with milk and serve it chill
2. Ragi Drink: an instant refresher
• 2 tbsp ragi flour
• 1 cup water
• Dash of sugar
• Salt and Pepper as per taste
Boil ragi flour in 1 cup water, for 5-7 minutes, adding more water as required.
Cool to room temp.
Put mixture in a blender.
Add salt, pepper, a dash of sugar, and chilled water or crushed ice.
Blend till smooth and frothy. Serve chilled
