I have 8 month 1 week old baby.He is weighing 8.1 kgs now...I am giving him Barley cereal with Almonds milk[10 almonds soak at night peel and grind it with water and mix with barley cereal] for breakfast..Oat meal cereal,mixed grain cereal for lunch..Apart from that i am giving all GERBER fruits and vegetables [1st food and 2 nd food].When shall i start 3rd Gerber food,RICE,PULSES,SALT,SUGAR,GHEE.
You are doing a good job with your child's diet. Three semisolid meals in a day along with adlib breast feeding are enough for him. Let him choose the amount that requires to take. He can take all usually available cereals & pulses. Give home cooked meal to your baby, as far as possible. He can take sooji /atta based foods, dal & rice combinations, thick soups made from combining vegetables, cereals & pulses, mashed fruits etc. Oats are also fine. Basically, the food should be fresh, hygienic, and mashed up. As he erupt some teeth, you may stop crushing the food and just cut it coarsely. You can include little amount of salt/sugar to your baby's food as appropriate.
Give him a separate serving of his own & sit with him and feed him yourself as he is too young to self feed. (Y)

Caring for your 8-month Old Baby is serious. Even the diet chart or foods for 8-month old baby needs to be extremely careful. Consult doctors or other reputable childcare specialists before you give anything. As baby is now crawling, baby may'nt show that much interest in eating. That you all know. At times, even baby can refuse food. However, give your baby:
• Fruits like apple, blueberries, cherries, mango
• Baby food needn’t avoided
• Even cottage cheese is good and should be given
• Vegetables like squash, peas, summer squash, peppers
• Cheese, Colby can be given, like rice, spelt, wheat
A growing baby requires healthy foods that contain proteins, nutrients, fats, calcium, carbohydrates etc. Here is a brief list of points on how to take care of the diet of an eight month old baby.
• Whole milk formula of about 3to 5 feeds a day.
• Meat and alternatives such as egg yolks, fish, and mashed meat can be given.
• Vegetables must be cooked and given with food
• Plain yogurt is very good, banana and avocado is good.
• You must avoid honey in the diet.
These foods will help your child grow healthy.
Since your baby is just 8 month old you can’t make it to eat heavy food stuffs like rice, wheat and other such things. Right now continue the cereal that you are giving and add some fruit juices to the daily diet as it is easy to digest and at the same time very nutritious. However don’t give big quantity all of a sudden but start with a table spoon and slowly increase it. In case your baby finds difficult in digesting any food please stop it immediately.
See the way you are providing food to your child is quite okay, just that you need to keep in check with timings like at what time he feels hungry. Is it like early in the morning or in the evening. What food items you have selected for your 8 months 1 week old baby is quite okay. But instead of providing once at a time the food heavily to your baby you need to split the time like morning at 7 or 8 o’clock with Almonds milk. Next at 9 a.m with Barley or cereal food. After providing the medicines wait for a gap of one hour or as time prescribed then provided vegetable mix rice type porridge. Evening time at five provide fruit juice or almond milk as you choose. Next at eight o’ clock provide semi-liquid type rice that is cooked with lentil and vegetables mix. Blend all properly and add few drops of ghee to serve your baby. Else could feed ragi which is really good for your child.
