Re: Post Pregnancy Recipes

Pregnancy is a period of expectant waiting and one that all of us aspire to experience at least once in our lifetime. As we set foot on the path that transmutes one from a woman into a mother, several responsibilities and concerns become ours alone. Among these is our duty to the life that is yet to be and how we can give of ourselves, in body and spirit, to form and nurture the new life that we seek to bring into existence.

Giving life is powerful. It is vital, therefore, that we prepare our body to become a suitable environment for the baby to grow in while staying happy and healthy emotionally and mentally as well. Each week of pregnancy brings with it new changes and feelings that may require some explanations and support. for information about post pregnancy visit :http://www.indianwomenshealth.com/Pregnancy-72.aspx

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling and even more beautiful is knowing that you are the reason behind it. Be a reason for others to smile.

Re: Post Pregnancy Recipes

Hi Shri,

Post pregnancy normally you have very little time to tend for yourslef as you are busy taking care of your newborn and adjusting to motherhood..

If you have gained a lot of weight during pregnancy the best way to shed it would be to do it slowly and regularly..

First and foremost no dieting especially if you are breastfeeding..

Eat small meals atleast 6 times ad ay but see that you eat vegetables, fruits and sprouts as part of your diet not too much of rice or chapathis..

Steamed vegetables would be the best..

Whnever you have time just chop some veggies and put them in apressure cooker add a pinch of salt and eat it..

Make some soup and set aside.. These things are easy to make and are healthy too..

For lunch you can take 3 rotis and a cup of rice with dal..

In between meals avoid processed foods, junk.. Instead have some raisins or dry fruits, fruit salad, soup... or a cup of buttermilk or coconut water..

Its important to eat right because you'll be tired from lack of sleep ..So don't skip meals..

Exercise when time permits.. Walk with your baby, do some abdomen crunches, yoga and meditation..

You can do most of the basic yogasanas but its better to take your doctor's advice on the same..

It will not be instant so be patient as your body also has to adapt to all the changes..

If you have time and its accessible try to walk or jog in  treadmill for 30 mins a day.. Please warm up and cool before and after..

Cheers

We just had a failed pregnancy as the child expired just after delivery. To overcome this agony we strongly wish to adopt a child from anywhere in India. Can anyone help??

Re: Post Pregnancy Recipes

Shail Chat..

Extremely sorry about your loss..

Adoption is a good choice but you and your spouse need to be sure and should discuss the pros and cons before you go into it..

Its a bigger responsibility than raising your own child and make sure you are both conscientious..

Adoption legaly will take some time.. You can have all the documents and papers from your side ready ..

Please visit this link to know more about the procedures.

You'll also find a lot of related posts on this forum so go thro them to get more ideas on the same..

Good luck..

Re: Post Pregnancy Recipes

Hi Ritu,

If you had a normal delivery, then you can start on a diet plan combined with a Soft Exercise Schedule. If you had a ceasarian, then you should wait for some more time before starting any exercises or cutting down on your diet. In fact they say that Breast feeding by itself is a good exercise to burn the extra calories gained during the pregnancy.

Please check out the links below and go to the topic Post Partum and lactation, which would give you on advice on post pregnancy diets, nice receipes.

If followed meticulously, you can keep yourself fit as a fiddle.
