How to get France visa from Chennai

I would be doing an exchange program in France for about 4 months. I am supposed to apply for my visa from Chennai, India. I am little confused about VFS and Campus France. I had gone through both the websites. They both seem to be different agents and am not quite clear about the procedure. Can somebody who has done this before, advice me please?

Why dont u google and get details from the French Consulate in Pondycherry.
