Re: Girls Dress code

Hi Glossy,

Guess your colleagues are really mean..

Just because you are from a small place doesn't mean you have no dressing sense..

Wear what you are comfortable wearing.. I have seen a lot of village girls who after a few months in urban areas go for extreme makeovers just to prove a point...

While looking good makes you more confident and gives you a nice disposition don't go for any drastic makeovers or changes in your wardrobe..

Choose comfortable attire..

Have some casual stuff like Jeans and kurtis or tights and tunics etc..

If you are not comfortble in indowestern attire go for salwar kameez which are tailored well and are not very gaudy..

For formal occasions you cna choose to wear slacks/skirts and shirts or again in Indian you can go for a smart salwar suit ..

Most of the software companies are not very particular about any dress code..

Whatever you wear feel confident and don't let other's comments get to you..

At the end of the day your work matters and not your looks...

Re: Girls Dress code

Hi Glossy.

Welcome to Chennai.  Being a Chennaite I can advise you on some places to shop and also change your external profile to a certain extent.  First of all dont be pessimistic,  you need to have a positive attitude which means irrespective of the dress you wear your body language should be good. Be confident in your approach and speech and with minor changes to your dressing patern you can change your outlook along with some beauty tips.

You can cut your hair or trim it . You can bleach and do a facial once in a month atleast. Pedicure, manicure and eyebrows should be a regular feature. You would also need to take care in choosing the right colour. Go for pleasant colours that would match well.

Another important fact to consider is about your footwear and accessories like handbag, mobile pouch, hair clips, lip stick, mascara and rouge. If you are used to wearing ankets in your village, you may remove it as it is not a fashion in Chennai.

If you want more tips, please let me know.

Best Wishes,

Sanjay

Re: Girls Dress code

Priya,

What you said is very correct...

Many girls I have seen wears latest trend clothes but when you see the style you will feel like slapping them...
Whatever you wear must be properly fitting to your body and the curves and designs of the cloth should also be taken care...

I have seen ladies here in bangalore wearing salwaars and saaris...
tell you one incident.. We were having some occasion and for that all were requested to wear ethnic wear and one girl wore a salwaar with around half inch rectangular cuts at the bottom...
I don't know she was really a girl or a bear but everyone(Especially Boys) was laughing that without waxing her legs how can she wear such a thing..

Many times I see ladies wearing salwaar which reveals the 1 inch foot and the cuts and cracks in the foot... When they can tie it at thr belly they tie it above th stomach giving them a bai type look... Imagine our office maids look smarter then those Software professionals...

Second thing is about high heels on saaris...
When you plan to wear high heels with saari then just wear heels first and then the petticoat to know upto what height you can easily wear the saari and carry it... Then tie the saari so that the heels are revealed but it must not show your legs...

Here again like salwaars they first tie saaris and that too very high to reveal thr legs upto half an inch and then wear heels that gvs them the worst look and In those cases I feel like going and slapping them that when you don't know how to wear it then simply wear some jeans and trousers and don't experiemnt coz you are looking IDIOT in that...

In jeans and trousers too... I have seen no sense even when you are working and having a highly paid job... To wear on jeans and T-shirts thr are a veriety of Undergarments which you can choose for different waist jeans and trousers..

I have seen girls wearing too long undergarments with Micro mini waist jeans... Just imagine what it feels in traffic when you see a girl sitting on the back side of a high class Bike revealing her cheap and 3rd grade undys... you can just laugh...

God knows they do it intentionally or unintentionally...
