    hello,

I am an NRI settled in UK since 6 years(since 2003). In India ( in 2001 and 2002), my earning was below threshold to file income tax return. Since 2003, I have not earned a single penny in India. So, I have never filed income tax return in India.

    My query-

Should I be filing income tax returns in India every year? if yes , why & How?

    Thanks

    Regards

Filing of return is your constitutional duty and earns for you the dignity of consciously contributing to the development of the nation. This apart, your IT returns validate your credit worthiness before financial institutions and make it possible for you to access many financial benefits such as bank credits etc.
