    Percentile vs GD/PI

Do you think just scores are good enough to gauge a students potential? Or an indepth GD/PI helps understanding a students potential better?

    Hi Chopra,

Yes, GD-PI is essential to judge the potential of the applicant.

The 3 step process - Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview is followed in many of the competitive exams in our country. This has become the mandatory one to analyze the candidates’ potential.

The candidates who scored high in the written test may not have the ability to communicate. GD is mainly to examine the leadership qualities, communication and presentation skills. Personal Interview is to assess the candidates’ adaptability, adjustability, and the involvement in the job.

This acts as a filtering process in many of the interviews conducted by the MNCs. Candidates should prepare in such a way to show that they are capable of doing anything and fits the job description.
