    Olympics 2012 Medals Table

Every eye of the world is now focused on Olympics 2012 which will commence in London, United Kingdom, on 27 July 2012. The intensity of winning medals in Olympics is so high that it already has sparked anticipation as to which country will win the most medals and which athlete would rank top in the medal list.

The previous editions’ medal standings reveal United States, Russia, China, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, and Australia have been tough competitors to the rest of the world. However, it is predicted that Great Britain would bag 78 medals which includes 32 Golds. In 2008 edition, it was China to top of the medal list and US, Russia, and GB were behind it. In 2004, it was US on top while China, Russia, and Australia followed it respectively.

I hope Olympics 2012 Medals Table turns out to be most interesting event in the coming days. Let us share medal standings and rankings of countries in this Olympic edition here. Let us keep ourselves informed when someone in London wins a gold, silver, or bronze.

Thumbs up Gagan Narang Wins Bronze Medal

There we go. Get that name “India” on the medal tally board of Olympics 2012. Gagan Narang it is. And, Bronze it is. Our first medal of Olympic 2012. I will take that. No complaints whatsoever. It was a strong and consistent performance from Gagan Narang who claims from Dehradun. Born in Punjabi family, he proved his mettles right from the word go with shots of 10.7 in the first, a wayward 9.7 in the second, laudable 10.6 and 10.7 in the third and fourth as he clinched the 10th ever individual medal in the entire history of Olympics.

Gagan Narang has just started the proceedings here. I wish other Indian athletes take spirit from this performance and bring more laurels to our nation. Good show Gagan Narang. Thanks for making India Shine.
